Shannon Reed is the author of Why Did I Get a B? And Other Mysteries We're Discussing in the Faculty Lounge, a book of essays and humor about her twenty-year teaching career, which has taken her from teaching preschool in Western Pennsylvania to teaching English and theatre at a Brooklyn public high school. She frequently contributes to The New Yorker and McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and her work has been published at The Paris Review, Slate, and the Washington Post, among many others. Shannon is now a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Pittsburgh. You can read more about her and her work at her website
