Daily Spotlight on Education 05/04/2009
Great efolio wiki from my ninth grader -- summarizes the year and accomplishments. (Videos will be added this week.)
The Educational Technology Site: ICT in Education: --> Ask Miller!
One of my students, Miller, answers questions on Terry Freedman's blog - her writing is excellent and it almost killed me NOT to edit or critique her work, but we really wanted her to share. She is an excellent writer and has well formed views about the use of technology in high schools, middle school, and elementary. You can ask her questions and she'll respond over the next few weeks. (Then she's taking summer break!)
My Reflection - grownupdigital
Another very nice reflection giving an overview of netgened. This student created an award winning video for Semantic Aware apps.
netgened - 6B Fun and Cloud Computing
Another nice wiki from netgened on Fun/ Cloud Computing and Education.
Another amazing reflection from Netgened, this student is simply phenomenal.

netgened - 6D Fun and the Personal Web
This is one of my favorite wikis from NetGenEd - it is excellent!
Another excellent efolio post from one of my hardest working 10th graders.
How to Chroma Key in Windows Movie Maker: 9 steps - wikiHow

YouTube - Josh Groban - Let Me Fall
I love this song and listen to it when I see students who mess up on a grade. Good students will sometimes not follow through. It is tough but tough love can often teach students. I do believe in mercy where it is appropriate but the other side is also important. Notice, this is saying "let me fall" but not let me "fail" -- there is a difference.
It is not FAILURE if you learn from your mistake.
"Let me fall
Let me climb
There's a moment when fear
And dreams must collide
Someone I am
Is waiting for courage
The one I want
The one I will become
Will catch me
So let me fall
If I must fall
I won't heed your warnings
I won't hear them
Let me fall
If I fall
Though the phoenix may
Or may not rise
I will dance so freely
Holding on to no one
You can hold me only
If you too will fall
Away from all these
Useless fears and chains"Excellent efolio of work from Joy J in the 10th grade Introduction to Computer Science course. You can see an overview of the types of things done in this course and how Flat Classroom and NetGenEd were integrated into the curriculum as well as some videos. Joy is an excellent student and this portfolio with exception of a few tiny omissions is near perfect.
Kathryn's NetGen Reflection - grownupdigital
