Daily Spotlight on Education 09/04/2008
Blind Planet | The best blind community on the net!
This website has a wide variety of information for the blind community. You'll notice that this site doesn't have a lot of graphics -- that is because it is very accessible and usable for those using voice-enabled web browsing. This is a great resource for educators and those working with special needs.
Thomas Friedman, Dan Pink, John Maxwell and others will be in Columbus, GA next Tuesday. It is a very nice line up.
I guess I haven't blogged it sooner out of sheer dissapointment. The fee for Tuesday is $199 and they are talking about education and all types of things that my students would love to learn more about because they have read them both.
Unfortunately, there was no way for the organizers to provide any sort of school discount, so I guess I've been a bit dissapointed. However, I wish them well and if you're around or can make the trip -- let me know how it goes. I would absolutely FLIP for a ticket for my 21 students and I. However, it is just not to be.Coalition for Science After School
This is the Coalition's website for After School activities - this is the detail from the American Express proposal that I shared also in this post. If you like this idea and organization, please go vote at the American express link. Thanks!
American Express has a set of proposals for education and is asking us to vote on their proposals. The organizers of this particular project have contacted me directly and asked me to share it with you. Take a look. I do wish there wer emore specifics about the project as I think we've got a watered down version here. However, the more science and technology, the better.
