Tonight at dinner, my son, John, said if I was going to write about excellence that I had to tell people not to talk so much and to actually do something about the things they’re talking about. Spoken like the true introvert that he is, I think he makes a great point.

Albert Einstein said,

“If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.”

Proverbs 14:23 says

“All hard work brings a profit but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

Talk is not a problem. Mere talk is. If all you do is talk about your problems and never do anything about it, that is a bigger problem.

Some people live life like a life-long broken record. Play it backward or forwards and it is always the same song. May it never be!

What do you talk about all the time? What are you doing about it?

Let’s turn talk into tasks that make real progress for a change. Enough talk.

This post is day 58 of 80 days of excellence. I’ve created an email list below for those of you want to be emailed the full posts written as part of this series.
