The decade of the 00's (Oh's)

I've posted this weeks podcast about my thoughts about how this decade will be characterized. We have the 70's, 80's, 90's, and now we have the 00's (pronounced Oh's).

I think that there are three types of people that characterize the OO's in education that I outline in the podcast.

Also, I talk about the Friedman book and its impact on teachers as well as the new flat classroom project that I've been discussing here on the blog.

    I prefer the "noughties" as the name for 2000-2009.

    The 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, etc., are not decades, they are decennaries.

    A ten-year period is a decennary. Only the first of every ten decennaries is also a decade.

    Here, 1971-1980, 1981-1990, 1991-2000, and 2001-2010 are decades as well as decennaries. All other 10-year periods are decennaries.

    Charles - sounds like you're a semantic expert. I'm not, I just used the common terminology used by most of us.
